Heya, folks.

False Covenant–the second Widdershins adventure and sequel to the forthcoming Thief’s Covenant–is starting to show up for preorders. You can find it at Amazon and Barnes & Noble now, and it’ll shortly be at other vendors as well.

Also now available for preorder is the short fiction/original music anthology Foreshadows, which includes a short story of mine. Click on over to their site for details.

And finally, back to False Covenant for a moment, allow me to present the cover, once again provided by the esteemed and inestimable Jason Chan! Hope you love it as much as I do. :-D

If you’ve been waiting to pick up The Warlord’s Legacy until it came out in mass market paperback, your wait is nearly over. That edition of the second Corvis Rebaine novel will be released in late December, and is available for preorder pretty much everywhere.

Additionally, the German edition–called Die Tochter des Kriegers–comes out at the end of this week, and should be available from most vendors that carry German-language books. I’ve included the cover, below.

(I find it hysterical that Blanvalet commissioned an entirely new cover for The Conqueror’s Shadow, but went with an only slightly modified version of the leather-clad posterior-focused shot from the original of The Warlord’s Legacy.)

So, I’ve been sitting on this for a while, mostly until we had everything signed and formalized. Now that it’s done…

Please say hello to Jessie Cammack of the illustrious JABberwocky Literary Agency. JABberwocky represents an enormous number of truly talented authors, and I’m absolutely thrilled to count myself among them. Jessie will be representing me in most matters moving forward; if you need to contact her (legitimate offers/questions only, please), you can find all necessary contact info for the agency here.

If you haven’t checked out Shock Totem yet, you really should do so. They’re really a very good addition to the weird/horror fiction market.

The bad news is, their fifth issue is delayed until next July. The good news is that, when it comes out, it will include a story written by the very author whose words you are now reading. ;-)

“In Deepest Silence” is one of my forays into semi-Lovecraftian territory, but I’ve done something that I like to think includes a new (or at least not uncommon) addition to that particular sub-genre. I’m indebted to the folks at Shock Totem, and delighted they enjoyed the story as much as they did.

I should also say that “In Deepest Silence is a minor milestone for me. It’s not my first published short story by any means–but it is my first published short story to go through a traditional submission/slush pile scenario. All my others to date have been either assigned to me (such as with RPG-related stories) or appeared in anthologies to which I was invited.

Yes, it seems like a stretch to call that a “milestone,” but I think other writers will understand why that feels like a big deal. (Or not. Maybe I’m just that crazy.)

Also, while I can’t say what it is yet, you folks might be interested in knowing that I’m currently in the midst of working on another tie-in novel–and it’s not for any of the properties I’ve ever worked on before. Stay tuned for more annoyingly cryptic announcements soon.

Hey, all. Bunch of little stuff today.

First and foremost, congratulations to my contest winners: Alec Austin, Fobok, Richard Auffrey, and Shane Noble. (And again, thanks so much to everyone who entered.) Guys, I’m afraid I haven’t been able to get your books in the mail yet–schedules appear to be things that happen to other people, not me  –but I should have by the end of the week. You’ll be glad to know that, unless I’m misremembering, everyone got their first choice. :-D (Obviously, if you asked for a book that’s not out yet, it won’t be in the mail by the end of the week.)

October 20th addendum: All the books, except those that haven’t been released yet, went in the mail today. If you haven’t received your books within two weeks (or four, for international), shoot me an e-mail.

Second, the web site SF Signal has a regular feature called “Mind Meld,” in which they ask a bunch of authors a question about genre. This installment’s question is “What are the most interesting societies, alien or otherwise, in SF/F?” You can see my take, as well as quite a few other authors’, by clicking here. Thanks for the invite, guys.

Finally, Broken Time Blues–the anthology of speculative fiction set in the 1920s, and including my short story “The Purloined Ledger”is now available on Kindle. And it’s really inexpensive, too. You’re missing out if you don’t get it. Seriously, I’m getting a hard copy because I’m one of the contributing authors, and I still bought it on Kindle, too. :-)

Hey, guys. I’ve sent e-mails to the four selected winners of my contest, but I haven’t heard back from all of them yet. If you entered, please make a point of checking the e-mail address you used.

Once I’ve heard back from everyone, I’ll announce the winners formally. In the interim, thank you so much to everyone who entered, and if you didn’t win, don’t despair. I promise I’ll be doing more contests in the near future. :-)

Hey, guys. My Easiest Contest Ever will be coming to a close at 11:59 PM on Monday, September 19th. Entries received after that point will be disqualified.

If you haven’t entered yet, do so. There’s still time, you can win free books, and the contest really is as easy as it’s purported to be. :-)

Dragon*Con has come and gone. I’m exhausted, but I had an absolutely fantastic time. Thanks so much to everyone who came out, everyone who stopped to talk or get a book signed, and everyone who decided to give The Goblin Corps a shot. We sold out of convention copies, so we’re doing something right. :-D

Had a fantastic time meeting so many other Pyr authors, and picked up several books that I can’t wait to read.

I’ll be ending my Easiest Contest Ever in about, oh, a week or so. So if you haven’t entered yet, your time is running out. It really is as easy as advertised.
